Velvet Flora was born from a simple idea — that beautiful gifts don't have to be mass-produced. We create thoughtful handmade pieces that feel personal, playful and worth keeping.
Why we started
We realized that the most meaningful gifts were often the ones made by hand. But finding beautiful, contemporary handmade gifts in India that didn't look like generic crafts was difficult. We wanted to build a space where artistry met modern aesthetics—a place to find pieces that feel special the moment you hold them.
Why handmade
Handmade is greater than mass-produced. When something is made by a machine in thousands, it loses its soul. Every Velvet Flora piece carries the time, thought, and personality of the hands that shaped it. We believe the slight imperfections and variations are what make our pieces truly beautiful and unique.
How we create
Our process is intentionally slow. From selecting the softest premium pipe cleaners to hand-bending every single petal and leaf, we take the time required to do things right. We don't use molds or automated cutting machines. Every twist and tie is done by a person who cares about the final product.
What we believe
We believe that beautiful things should last. We believe in the joy of giving something that feels deeply personal. And most importantly, we believe that ordinary moments can be made extraordinary when you introduce a little bit of handcrafted beauty.
Where we're going
Starting in Karnataka, our vision is to bring modern Indian handmade gifting to the world. We are constantly exploring new textures, designs, and materials to expand our garden. We hope to continue crafting pieces that help you celebrate the people you love.
